Lightweight

Using an ultra-small 2-speed clutch. reduces rotating mass significantly. Lowering static weight has its benefits, but even small reductions in rotating mass reduces the polar moment of inertia, which translates into much quicker acceleration. In addition to sharper engine acceleration, the option of new high-speed gear sets are avail able with 16, 17 and 18T pinions on 1st gear and 21, 22, 23 and 24T pinions on 2nd gear. For the spur gears, 59, 60 and 61T are being developed for 1st gear and 54, 55 and 56T on the 2nd.

Also, more narrow, smaller diameterdifferentials are being developed for the front and rear. A grooved diff shaft also contributes to the reduction in weight.
