The First round of the Midland Astro masters series 2wd at Kidderminster model car club started off very wet. We decided to go with the rb6.6 with 4gear stand-up setup, I set the Car soft and with added some weight, this proved to be a very good choice as i managed to TQ round one. Round 2 i didn't make any changes to the car and again the car was showing good pace I should of took TQ for the round but unfortunately i made a very slight error and finished second. Round 3 grip was starting to increase so i stiffened the rear slightly as i was worried that the  front end wouldn't be able to cope with the amount of rear grip the car was generating, this again proved to be a good choice as i managed to TQ the round again. Round 4 a number of drivers were using the new rear dart tyres so thought i would give them ago along with a fresh set of BB front cut staggers, I was very happy as the car was dialled and i managed to TQ and also put the fastest time of the day in. With three zeros and a two i started the A final from pole position, by this time track conditions had changed and the grip level was high enough i thought to get the 3 gear laydown car out, i used the original 4 gear bulkhead with shocks to the rear as i thought this would help with a few greasy spots on the track, after very close start which resulted in me losing first place for a lap or two i eventually got myself in to a position where i was able to apply pressure to the lead car which forced him to make an error letting me back into the lead and take the win. The Kyosho Ultima RB6.6 is proving to me to be a very versatile car , with a bit of thought this car can be set up to cope with all conditions our British weather can throw at us, looking forward to my next meeting with it !!
