The 2WD qualifying was shared between three drivers - with TLR's Darren Bloomfield taking round one before the Kyosho DB1 of Kevin Lee came back to take round two. After a shakey couple of opening rounds however it was 10th off road newbie Elliott Boots that took the final two qualifiers for the overall TQ - also driving the Ultima Kyosho DB1.

In the finals Elliott was almost in a different class to everyone else - no one could match the smooth-haired young man as he brougt home his Ultima Kyosho DB1 to win every leg of the A Finals in dominating style - being the only driver to make it through for 14 laps, and doing it in every final.

Elliott has struggled to compete this year because of his poor grading for the 10th off road nationals - being an F5 (lowest) graded driver has meant he's found it impossible to race at some events. Elliott initially wanted to attend the previous week's oOple Invernational race but decided that next years 10th Nationals were too important so ran his local regional race to ensure a better rating and entry to all rounds in 2013.

As Elliott puts aside his Kyosho / Rudebits DB1 car for the all new Kyosho RB6 this coming week - we'll see how the new car competes with what's already a proven winner.
